چکیده

Abstract The North China craton of central Asia is a natural laboratory for investigating early Earth tectonic processes including subduction and large-scale horizontal crustal motions. However, it remains unclear how when the formed from amalgamation several blocks orogens Archean Western Eastern blocks, late Central Orogenic Belt, Paleoproterozoic Northern Margin orogen. In this study, we integrated new existing geological field observations, zircon baddeleyite U-Pb geochronology, whole-rock geochemistry, Sr-Nd-C-O isotope analyses along northern margin to improve our understanding its Archean–Paleoproterozoic evolution. Observations show Wuchuan ultramafic-mafic complex orogen contains mixture mylonite gneiss, serpentinized ultramafic amphibolite pyroxenite xenoliths. Geochronology geochemistry results suggest that ca. 2.55–2.5 Ga development was associated with subduction, which followed by 2.39 emplacement lamprophyre dikes during continental rifting. Subsequent magmatism, collision, post-orogenic rifting between southern Siberian are evidenced 2.0 arc granitoids, 1.87–1.85 A-type, garnet-bearing granitoids mafic dikes, 1.86 carbonatite. Ca. collision were coincident orogen-normal left-slip shear. Our findings 1.9 China-Siberia key event assembly Columbia supercontinent occurred via modern plate-tectonic processes.

Paleoproterozoic high-pressure metamorphism in the northern North China Craton and implications for the Nuna supercontinent

The connection between the North China Craton (NCC) and contiguous cratons is important for the configuration of the Nuna supercontinent. Here we document a new Paleoproterozoic high-pressure (HP) complex dominated by garnet websterite on the northern margin of the NCC. The peak metamorphism of the garnet websterite was after ∼1.90 Ga when it was subducted to eclogite facies at ∼2.4 GPa, then e...

Late Mesozoic extensional tectonics in the North China block: a crustal response to subcontinental mantle removal?

– In the North China block, Cretaceous extensional tectonics is expressed by numerous syntectonic plutons bounded by ductile normal faults and several metamorphic core complexes (MCC). Cretaceous half-grabens filled by continental terrigenous deposits are widespread. The examples of MCC from South Liaoning Peninsula, Yiwulüshan, Hohhot as well as the Yunmengshan syntectonic pluton spread along ...
